Santa doesn’t believe in me anymore. 

Somewhere in the ice-bitten dark of the North Pole, my name slipped off his list.  Not out of malice, but from a slow, inevitable erasure, as if I’d faded beyond even myth’s ability to remember me. 

Now I imagine him staring into the endless white, trying to recall a face he once knew, a soul he once deemed worth a gift or a moment of joy. 

The horror isn’t that he’s abandoned me, it’s that his disbelief feels like the universe whispering that I was never even real to begin with.
